Skagway, Alaska, is located out on the Alaska Panhandle, about 90 miles northwest of Juneau, and it was heavily involved with the Klondike Gold Rush between 1896 and 1899. Jack London used the location as the setting for his book Call of the Wild. Check out the Golden North Hotel, the oldest hotel in Alaska, and stop in to the Red Onion Saloon.

    Special Pieces
    Special Piece Requests
    • Each puzzle includes your puzzle artisan’s signature piece (varies by cutter) and our Waterford tree logo.
    • We can usually include 5 special pieces for every 100 pieces of the puzzle.
    • Special pieces can be letters, words, names and dates. Note that two letters or numbers typically equal one special piece. (e.g., “John” would count as 2 special pieces).
    • For specific special piece design requests (e.g., photo of your dog for a “poodle” silhouette piece), you can attach photos in the “Upload Your Images” section below, or you can email them to us at [email protected].
    Border Style

    Regular borders have 90° corners and will be square or rectangular in shape. An irregular border adds to the puzzle’s assembly difficulty and at least one of the puzzle’s edges will not be straight or one or more of its corners will not be 90°.

    Cutting Tricks

    The puzzle artisan can include trick edge and corner pieces, false edge and corner pieces and color line cutting among other cutting tricks. The more tricks in a puzzle, the more difficult the puzzle will be to assemble.

Special Pieces

We generally include 5 special pieces per 100 pieces in a puzzle. You can indicate the kinds of special pieces you’d like in your puzzle (e.g. dog, horse, sailboat, someone’s name) before adding your puzzle to the cart.

Shipping and Delivery

Because Custom Puzzles are made to order, production and delivery of your puzzle can take 4 to 6 weeks. We thank you in advance for your patience with the unique process and timeline necessary to handcraft your one-of-a-kind wood puzzle.
