Fra Angelico

Fra Angelico (c.1395–1455) was an Italian Early Renaissance painter and Dominican friar renowned for serene devotional art. His luminous frescoes at San Marco fused Gothic beauty with Renaissance perspective. Beatified by the Church, he exemplified spiritual contemplation united with exceptional artistic innovation.
